Chibok Girls Anniversary: Female Boko Haram Abductee Trained to Fight Speaks Out

Posted in: , ,

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the April 14, 2014 mass abduction by Boko Haram of almost 300 Nigerian schoolgirls in the northeastern Nigerian town of Chibok. Amnesty International has now released a report called, 'Our job is to shoot, slaughter and kill': Boko Haram's reign of terror in north east Nigeria, which is based on nearly 200 witness accounts, including 28 with abducted women and girls who escaped captivity.

The report is accompanied by a video of Boko Haram's female fighters mostly made of abducted girls and women. In the video, 19-year-old Aisha speaks of how during the months she was held captive, she was raped repeatedly, sometimes by groups of several fighters. She witnessed her sister being killed as well as up to 50 people who refused to convert or get trained. Aisha accepted to be trained to fight and was sent on an operation to attack her village. She escaped after 4 months. See the video below...

Boko Haram Leader Shekau May Be An Escapee From A Psychiatric Hospital

Posted in: , ,

Earlier today, Abubakar Shekau, leader of Islamic militant group Boko Haram, appeared in a video where he claimed Boko Haram was responsible for the attacks on Baga in Borno State which some have said led to the death of up to 2000 people. Shekau said in his recorded speech;

"We indeed killed them, as our Lord instructed us in His Book. We will not stop. This is not much. You will see. I'm ready."

But many have asked, who is Shekau? Who is this man who has kept the Nigerian Army looking like fools as they report his death, only for him to "seemingly" resurrect and mock them in new videos? A new report suggests that Shekau, while very well educated in Islamic and legal studies, may also be mentally ill. Some sources say he escaped from a psychatric hospital where he was put following a psychotic break when his wife died in childbirth.

Nigerian Military On The War Path With CNN - Calls Report On Soldiers Satanic

Posted in: , , ,

The Nigerian military has condemned what they called an 'Ultra-biased' and 'Satanic' CNN report, saying the interviews it featured could not be possible, and are orchestrated by Nigeria's enemies. CNN aired the interview and published an article by Nic Robertson alongside, which references the low morale of Nigerian soldiers and why the war against Boko Haram is largely unsuccessful.

The soldiers say they have to buy their own uniforms, have only 60 bullets to fight Boko Haram and when they get injured in the line of duty, the army does not pay their medical bills. The widows also face a grim and neglected future, the article adds. Read below...

CNN Reports That Boko Haram Is Advancing Across Western Nigeria?

Posted in: , , , ,

Most people outside Nigeria often have to depend on international media for news of what's happening in the country. And a new report on CNN today was shown with a graphics on the TV that claims that Boko Haram is advancing across Western Nigeria. How true is this?

I'm asking because I've not heard that Boko Haram is in the western part of the country which is really the south-west, or do they mean the North West? But even then, I've not heard local reports of Boko Haram being in North-west states like Sokoto, Kebbi, or Niger. Who can confirm?

Nigerian Military Addresses Boko Haram Attack In Baga Reported To Have Killed 2000

Posted in: , , ,

Boko Haram has been a thorn in the Nigerian polity since 2009, attacking police stations, schools, markets, with suicide bombings, kidnappings and mass shootings becoming very common in northern Nigeria. The highest toll since then was reported by international media to be from the attack on Baga more than a week ago.

After more than 9 days, and with bodies still reportedly out in the open, the Nigerian military has finally released a statement saying that from their own calculations, only about 150 people were killed in the attack. They had earlier tweeted that they lost about 5 soldiers with 40 wounded as they tried to rebuff the takeover of Baga town.

Boko Haram Murders Over 100 Young Men In Northern Nigeria Who Refused To Join

Posted in: , ,

This must be one of the most terrible things I've seen in my life, and I almost regret clicking over to watch the video. The video just posted on LiveLeak by the 15past8 media group owned by MrAyeDee shows some armed militants executing over a hundred young men over the metal girders on a bridge.

The bodies are then thrown over into the river below which soon runs with blood just like the bridge itself. Seeing the underside of humanity like this makes one ask, is there really God? Jesus please come quick!

Nigeria is again on fire after it seems the cease-fire declared by the federal government has failed to keep the Boko Haram terrorists at bay.

Doyin Okupe was acting all defensive in an interview I saw him in, where he tried to explain that Boko Haram works in factions and it appears they only spoke with one of the faction.

President Jonathan on Thursday declared that by next month, Boko Haram insurgence will reduce drastically. He said this at the 66rh National Executive Committee, NEC of the PDP. Jonathan stressed the fact that insecurity is the ultimate challenge of the country but plans to stop Boko Haram is well in place as he wants to instill his own leadership.

“Nigeria is having an unfair share. Terror is a global problem, and Nigeria situation is going beyond terror. Australian Negotiator Names Ali Modu Sheriff And Ihejirika As Boko Haram Sponsors

Posted in: , ,

63-year-old Australian expert, Dr. Stephen Davis, a negotiator in the Chibok kidnappings, has named Former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff and immediate chief of army staff Lt-Gen Ihejirika (sacked January 2014) as Boko Haram sponsors on ARISE NEWS [Watch].

Davis, who had worked as an adviser for Olusegun Obasanjo and Shehu Yar’Adua in the past, spent 4 intense months in the North-East trying to negotiate the release of the more than 200 school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram on April 14, but without success.

Dr Davis has just returned to Australia with rare footage of the intense fighting in the region, and lots of insider opinion. In a recent interview with Radio Australia, he explained that the main aim for the Nigerian authorities was now to block Boko Haram funding and find its sponsors, alleging that some banks and politicians are among them.

Davis said that many of the insurgency sponsors were in the opposition and this will make it difficult, should the President try to prosecute them.
